EasyPort Mount... not so Easy

It is now the second time I have broken the EasyPort Mount for my tomtom XL2 IQ SatNav. I have been following the instructions, but it is still so awkward to remove the thing from the windscreen! Now the spring inside has fallen down behind the dashboard, so I cannot get it back unless dismantling the car!

Does anybody know of any other mounting devices I can use for this make of SatNav that are more useable?

I use my Easymount every day and it hasnt broken in 6 months. I tend to leave it attached to the windscreen and just pull the TomTom off it.
