Does GO 930 not turn on when power applied?

I had a 910 for 3 years b/f the backlight failed. Now have a 930 w/ App: 8.351

I've searched and can't find the following info

The 910 would turn itself on when I started my car, the cig. lighter provided power. The 930 doesn't. Is this by design? Is there a setting that I'm missing so that this function can be enabled?
