My antique TomTom XL will charge up using the car charger cord system, but when I try to connect to the computer using the USB cord, nothing happens. Is that cord fried? Is there some way to test it? Where can I get a replacement?

Do you have anything else to test with that PC USB cable?
For charging a cable from the Dollar Store is good enough.
They may even have cables for 2-way communication which is what you need if you want to connect to HOME on your PC.

Thanks for the link, dhn. $30 seems like a lot for $4 worth of parts.

Arno, the tt has a mini connector end that appears to be unique.

Thought that the XL just used a standard USB Mini-B type connector.

As canderson says, it is run of the mill but, no longer in the dollar stores.

Brand new $3,500 hearing aids from Switzerland still use them, they don't trust the minis.
