Distance for searchable POIs

I have added some personal POI files into my new VIA 1405. Within each POI category, there are some POIs are not being displayed. I heard there is a distance for searchable POIs, what is the range? Also, what is the best way to find a POI outside this range. Thanks.

The range is about 50km (about 30 miles) if you use "POI near you". To search for a POI further than that, you will need to specify "POI in city" and use either a city name or zip code.

There is a great deal of pressure on from a few folks to see the 50km limit changed to "unlimited" as it used to be on the previous TomTom models.
