Datalogging with the Tom Tom's

I have a 720 and love it but i would like it to do one more thing for me and that is tell me where Ive been and how far I've traveled. It doesn't have to be real specific just basic locations and mileage and be able to download the data or at least print it out for tax records. Does anyone know of a way to do this besides programming it all before the trip?
