Dashboard vs Windscreen mount

Looking to buy a new Tom Tom, - ideally both Dashboard + Windscreen mount options, but Tom Tom's site unclear as to which models (if any) have this.

Don't worry, all Tomtom GPS have both options: either suction cup to the windshield or dashboard.

On the dashboard, you must use the special discs sold by Tomtom.

Yes, you do need the discs and to replace them from time to time but my Go Discover still regularly falls off. So far, it has survived all the falls but eventually it will not.

It's not the discs that are faulty, but the GPS suction cup.
Have you tried it after moistening the suction cup?

Once the disc is stuck, it shouldn't come off.

But it does. It is clear that arrangement is not fit for purpose. I am a professional Engineer and it is clear that this arrangement was not properly tested. There are a lot of vibrations from uneven roads and pot holes which can eventually break the suction.

Try smearing the suction cup with a little vegetable oil, as moistening it with water just evaporates, the oil fills the inevitable micro scratches on both surfaces to provide a much better seal
