Here's a fun project. It took some time but I wanted to create a POI of highway rest areas along my planned route. I located the rest areas (the northbound ones on a North/South highway) on my US Atlas. Then, knowing the general location, I went to Google Earth and found the rest areas by sight. I plugged in the Long and lat to create each area. Then I had TT warn me when I was within 3000 yards.
Like I say, it took some time but with a new TomTom, it was a fun way to try out the POI features.

Good thoughts. The earlier versions of maps did a good job with rest stops but the new one does not. When I complained to TT they told me to go to their website and buy the POI for interstate rest areas. Probably would consider that but they do not sell a POI for rest stops (at least when that conversation took place).
