Have had an unfortunate incident on my 8 month old Tomtom - getting off cradle the screen cracked. Sounds like I am in the position of having to buy another - expensive process

Have no idea ho good or bad they are. Just did a search for repair shops in Oz.

Tried iTechcentre in Melbourne and they don't have any suppliers for LCD for that model. I am hoping Tomtom will assist. They were initially reluctant to doing anything but sell me another unit. Bit expensive to be a throw away item

Normally, cracked screens aren't covered by a warranty but you can call again:

Since this model is so (relatively) new, there are rare few replacement bits out there yet.
Be aware that you can use a screen from 600, 6000 and 6100 for your model.

Thank you, I am pleased to say Tomtom are being very helpful and are assisting me with repairs.

There's some good news! Can you advise what they are able to do on your behalf so far?
I looked around some more for any DIY replacement units, and the few I found carry pretty silly prices.

Tomtom have offered to repair it under warranty which is very generous and more than I was expecting so yay for them! Good PR. 5 stars!!!!
