I keep asking search engines about updating/correcting the maps used in my TomTom Android app.

Sometimes I get results that tell me "Support to MapShare updates is discontinued", and sometimes I get results that tell me tomtom.com/mapshare/tools still works. Can someone please give me a definitive answers to two questions

1. Is it still possible to submit corrections to maps?
2. Is tomtom.com/mapshare/tools the correct way to go about it?

I made some corrections to speed limits using tomtom.com/mapshare/tools back in mid September -they still show as pending. Does it usually take this long?

Yes, MapShare is the right method. There's always a waiting period. TomTom always waits for several people to report the same error.

Although I don't even know if TomTom actually fixes the maps anymore?

Now, if it's for the TomTom app formerly known as Amigo,

you need to go to OpenStreetMap to fix the map.

Yes. I used to have Amigo (with the blue icon) and then one day, without warning it was suddenly TomTom with the red icon.

However, the problem I have is that OpenStreetMap shows the correct speed limits, but my TomTom app is showing incorrect speed limits when I drive on the road in question. This is what made me think that OpenStreetMaps was not the place where TomTom on Android is getting its map information.

When I go to MapShare, the speed limits are either incorrect, or they are unspecified, but they match what I see on the app.

If you would like to check what I am talking about, it is a road that comes off Beach Road, Tahunanui, Nelson, New Zealand. That road is called "Hounsell Circle"

The whole of Hounsell Circle, Bisley Walk and Back Beach Road is physically sign posted as 20 kph, but when I drive it, some parts come up as 90 kph on the app.

Here is the edit map on OpenStreetMap... https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?editor=id#map=18/-41.281519/173.242636

Here is the edit map on MapShare... https://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/new/mapshare/#loc=-41.28196,173.24432,16.68

This has me confused to say the least.

I was convinced that the maps on the TomTom application were provided by OpenStreetMap.

It seems to me that TT application maps are based on OpenStreet maps with traffic, road signs, buildings and maybe other layers from TomTom - so it's mixture of info...

Have just submitted 8 reports via mapshare to add the missing 20Kph zones

@Niall
Keep us posted on whether you see action by the NZ map editors for your new entries.
