TomTom Model(s)
Rider 500
What is the for such a poor quality tomtom rider ?
I only bought this two months ago, and already it is showing condensation inside the unit.
Has anyone else had similar problems on such a new rider ?

Haven't seen it happen that fast, but have seen the problem.
I'd get that one traded out right away.

Thanks for your replies, I am waiting for a reply from tomtom.

Curious to know where you got a new 500 (vs 550)? Looks like they're getting pretty scarce.

Amazon return window closed on 31 January 2025.
My order was placed on 1st December 2024, so too late to return it. Also I don't think they would exchange it but give a refund & I doubt if I could buy another replacement for £219.99

Your contract is with Amazon. If the item has failed within 2-months it's up to Amazon to replace/repair it.
The return window is usually for items you no longer want and therefore want your monry back.
This is different.
Amazon should be your first port of call. The item is defective, full stop.

Unfortunately it was just over the 2 months - purchased on 1st December.

Checked the amazon.co.uk site earlier today to see what stock looked like, and they're 10 pounds less now.
Bummer that you're outside the window.

Have you got a link for that please, cheapest I found was £249.99

Even if you bought it on Amazon, Tomtom must repair it for free or exchange it. You must provide the purchase invoice for the GPS.

Got all that and it was the tomtom store I bought it from.
It is just so disappointing that the quality is so bad.

Yes that is the one I bought, but showing as £249.99 for me - maybe your price is not showing the 20% VAT - I noticed you are in the USA

Guess I hadn't realized you'd finally made it to 20% VAT there.

At 20%, you'd think they could do away with Inland Revenue!

One of my 550's did that but I blamed it on the rubber charging port plug which still snapped in but was no longer attached. I consider that a poor design with a limited life then the water will get in. Since I had 2 I left that one go with the sale of one of my bikes.
