CNN names "Best in GPS" top 4....

Bottom line: The Garmin N?vi offers a great screen and many extras (it should, at that price), but I recommend the TomTom ONE for pure navigation.
.... I don't think whoever wrote that did a good enough eval of the ONE... Pure Navigation... it does WAY MORE Thankyouverymuch!

The v1 is black (as in the picture), the v2 is silver, if my memory is good.

I don't think Navman should be up there.
For one very particular issue, the speaker volume of Navman is really LOW. So Low that I have to turn off my radio.
And Navman have this problem trying to avoid local route. It keep direct me to get on highway!!!!!!

I also don't think TT1 should be up there. POI is so lacking that I can't even find a simple ToyRus. Or I found a OfficeMax which already been out of this area 3 years ago. And battery life just just not even consider adequate.
It does has strong signal and easy UI. (that is if you know how to customize)

Nuvi 660 is just plain Expensive.
For $1000, I could buy a Pioneer head unit w/ mp3/wma/VCD/DVD + TT1.

Ok ok..I am a grumby old man. Because I have yet found a "perfect" GPS.

Cross finger on my upcoming 510.

The volume on my new 910 blew me away until I found the slider to tone it down. At 70% it's still above road noise.

Haven't seen what a grand will buy, I paid $ 444.-
