carminat tomtom

Where can I find the serial number of my Carminat TomTom which is built into the car.
I also want to download a map of France onto the SD card that came with the unit, its the United Kingdom/Ireland card. Is it OK to download straight onto this card?

With the SD Card in a card reader connected to your PC the TomTom Home software will let you purchase/ install maps to the memory card assuming there is enough spare capacity - Mike
