Carminat tomtom
I have a built in tomtom in my Kangoo Van which I've had for 6 years and it's been fine. However, a couple of days ago it's asking for an activation code for uk and ireland maps. Anyone know where I can find this or a way around it? Thanks.

An activation code is used when you purchase a service or a prepaid card. I've got a good scratch-off code.

I'm not sure if your Kangoo has a Carminat installed.

Can you tell me the model year?

2011, you definitely have a Carminat.

Here are some details about activation codes:

These codes are provided either as part of very specific promotions or to people who have purchased a prepaid service—LIVE Services or Map Update Service—from TomTom or a reseller.
They usually come in the form of a scratch card revealing the code:

If you have not purchased a prepaid service or subscribed to an online promotion, you do not need an activation code.

Just a thought. Could this be the Carminat security code?

For some reason when I started the van a couple of days ago it was saying the UK and Ireland maps are a product that has not been activated yet. I can press continue and it gives me a device code, tells me to go to www.ttcode.com to get an activation code for the device but I can't find anything on there to help.

As I said, been fine for 6 or so years, van was 2nd hand and has suddenly stopped working. I have never had to do this previously.

Unfortunately, the old ttcode page is no longer up at TomTom. It looked like this:

For some reason, your device thinks that it needs this code, possibly to provide you with an updated map, which - unfortunately - you didn't request.

You'll have to duke it out with the TomTom chatbot until you can get a live person during working hours to help.

Which map version do you have?
On Carminat, the only possible update is to purchase a new map on TomTom Home.

OK an update.

I managed to speak to a human at TomTom online chat and they informed me I needed to pay for a subscription for my maps. In the process of this they asked me to remove the SD card in the device. When I put it back in, it sorted the problem.

Many thanks for all responses. It ended up resolved by luck!
