Can't connect to TomTom

I have TomTom Go 620 and I am on the point of dumping it. I cannot connect to WFI via USB or direct to the computer. I have tried resetting the device but that gave no help. It was working OK a week ago but something has put a spanner in the works. Is there any way to get back to factory settings to have a complete fresh start. I have spent a day following various suggestions but none have worked. Is there anyone with the right idea? The device is only a few months old and I have had problems since the beginning but now it is beyond a joke

thank you for the replies but they have not helped. I did a reset as advised but still unable to connect to WFI. The connection I need for WFI shows as out of range even though the devise is only two feet away from the router. Any
Further moves suggested by Tom-tom do not work but only lead to more complications. Tom-tom do seem to specialise in complications especially for a novice like me which tells me I am not going to solve this cock up so it will be Tom-tom bye bye

You can get updates on the device without WiFi. Connect the device to the computer using the provided usb cable. Have MyDriveConnect running BUT MINIMIZED.
