Cancelling route stops (waypoints)

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have a Tom Tom go premium approximately five years old. I have prepared a Route with several stops on it. When I am driving the route and I decide I do not want to go to one of the stops how can I cancel the stop so I continue on the route rather than the tom-tom trying to take me back? I have tried but can’t find any option to cancel next stop or similar.

It is not possible to cancel a step on the GPS.

However, once you reach the step, you are not required to stop.

How close would you have to be for it to register that you have reached your waypoint?
In the past it has tried to turn me back, but I just ignore it and carry on, it then eventually picks up my route, and carry’s on.

while driving your route, try Main Menu->Current Route->Skip Next Stop

If you have laid out the route then sent the stops to the unit then "Main Menu->Current Route->Skip Next Stop" works. If you have saved the route as a track and sent it to the unit it sucks because it will not let you skip the next stop. I have accidentally picked the wrong side of the highway when setting up the track and it won't stop tellin me to turn around long after I passed that spot. Just using reverse the route has caused me much grief with this.

@Timbomc has a GO Premium pass.

On a GO Premium pass, it's not possible to delete a stop like on a Rider pass.

On the map view, tap the compass arrow, then tap the waypoint you want to delete. Now—at least on my Exclusive and other devices—the menu appears: 1. Skip previous waypoints, 2. Reorder waypoints, 3. Delete this waypoint.

I don't know how you do it.
As for me, a saved route cannot be modified.
To modify it, you have to delete it and then create a new one.

If I read that correctly, this isn't about a saved route but a planned one with multiple stops!
I'm not entirely sure, but I think with a saved route you can't change anything at all—not even add stops—I'll have to test that out!

Okay, I've tried everything I can think of. Routes saved under “My Routes” can't be edited.
So now @Timbimc needs to explain exactly what he meant.
I assume he’s referring to a “Planned Route with Stops” that wasn’t saved!
As I said, on my GO Expert (serial number: ZW2482Y00003, app version: 25.102.0006),
it works just as I already described.
