blown fuse

I'm having problems with repeatedly blowing the fuse of my charging outlet in the 99 Ford Focus while using the Tomtom. Put in a more heavy duty fuse, after a few uses that blew too. Suggestions?

See my other reply, if its the car fuse that is blowing then the issue is probably with the plug shorting out the socket, in which case the fuse is doing its job - fit a larger capacity fuse and you run the risk of a fire, so I guess doing this isn't very smart - Mike
