I would like to add a file that is in ov2, question is how do I do that. It has about 6,000 poi's for every lake in BC Canada. I know I can email it as it is in kml form as well. I had it listed on poifriend.com for every one but it seems that site went bust and I'd like to install the list within the week to a newer tomtom.

Any reason you can't zip it up and attach it to your post like you've done with your previous files?

On a Windows PC, the easiest way to do it is to make a folder (give it a descriptive name), put the .ov2 inside and the .bmp icon as well if you have one, then right-click on the folder and select "send to..." - "Compressed (zipped) folder"

Been so long I cannot recall how to do this properly so here goes. One thing I haven't figured out is how to merge the image and file so if you can assist it'd be appreciated. Ed

Just put all the files you want to send in a folder and then "zip" the folder. More details in my previous post (assuming you're using a PC).

OMG, I must have spent 15 hours on the computer trying to figure out how to load the BC_lakes file onto my tomtom. What I ended up doing was manually creating a poi on tomtom with the name bc lakes. I then made a backup copy and added the new file to the back up copy and deleted the manual tomtom file I made. It worked, but what a nightmare trying to figure it out. for some it may be easy but for others like me who don't spend a lot of time creating files and what not wow. poifriend.com made everything so easy. Me thinks since me rides a m/c up logging roads finding lakes to fish I should get a garmin with bc back country roadmaps built in.
