Are added POIs viewable in "search"

I've added a few POIs to my TomTom One LE. If I chose navigate to-->point near me--> search and type in "starbucks" I don't see any starbucks. If I choose the POI "starbucks" it displays them. How do I make POI files I install talk to whatever database the search is looking in?

You're responding to a thread that is over a year old ............

The application functionality has changed in that time, I believe:

Navigate to-->POI near me (or in city or on route) -->select category -->RESTAURANT -->and type in Startbucks or any portion of the name.

The files poi.dat and crpoi.dat which come with the map cannot communicate with a custom .ov2 file a user may have downloaded just for Statbucks locations.

That's why users sometimes see 2 icons of the same thing in essentially the same location on the map: 1 poi icon from the poi.dat file and the other from a downloaded file the user found somewhere.
