Announcing a "Travel Via" -- how?

When you've driving kids anywhere, you're sure to have detours. I think "Travel Via" is purposely made for this, right?

When I use the travel via feature, say to detour to the nearest donut shop along the way, the TT unit doesn't announce it when I pass by there. Am I missing something?

I have the same complaint. What I've done as a workaround is instead of "Travel via", use "Navigate to". Once you've finished at the donut shop, use "Navigate to" again, and select your original destination from "Recent destinations".

What you are experiencing is the way 'Travel via' is supposed to function.

Say that you don't like part of the route your unit generates. You can tell it to go via a particular spot to force it to take other roads. It's really an itinerary with only one waypoint.
