TomTom Model(s)
Rider 550
I got this the other day. No update with this version is available for my Rider 550. This sounds like them forcing us up buy new devices. The 550 is running 24.102.0003.411.

Dear TomTom Customer,

We’re reaching out to share an important update that will help ensure you continue enjoying our services seamlessly.

To enhance your experience and keep your device secure, we will soon be upgrading our systems. This means that only devices running the latest software version will have access to our services, such as Traffic, Safety Cameras, Weather, and Map Updates.
What You Need to Do:
To keep everything running smoothly, it is essential that you update your device to the latest software version, specifically version 25.100.0001.311, or higher.

TomTom made some mistakes when filtering the list of owners' devices when sending this email.
What makes it more confusing is that the numbering for the code branches between models is so similar.

It turns out that the 25.100.0001 version reference in the email applies to the generation just prior to the Rider 550 model, and includes the following and NOT models that came later:

GO 40, GO 50, GO 51, GO 60, GO 61, GO 400, GO 500, GO 510, GO 600, GO 610, GO 5000, GO 5100, GO 6000, GO 6100, START 40, START 50, START 60, START 42, START 52, START 62, VIA 52, VIA 62, RIDER 40/400/410/42/420/450, Trucker 500/5000/6000

Thanks for the replies. I wish that the email had the model information in it. As it stands, the email is generic.

Agreed! And I remain totally confused. My GO Classic is on version 24.102.0003.411 (of 7/5/24) and does not offer an update to version 25 up as specified in the email. Will I still get traffic delays etc? Do I need to take any further action?

Noted that the phone app is no longer available, does one uninstall it after 31st July?

J

Here's a tip that may help some users here. If your specific TomTom device supports WiFi connections in any way, the email did not apply to you and you need do nothing in response to it.

I am lost. Is my nav3 VIA 125 affected? TomTom sent me some e-mails in the last months, that I should buy a nem device, but nothing like this this. :)

I have two TomTom Starts - a 52 and a 60, but both are in my car which is currently being serviced and I won't be able to collect it till 1st August. The announcement stated "Please complete the update by July 31, 2025, to ensure continued access to all services" - does this mean that I will not be able to update them after the 31st?

Don't worry, you can still update it even after the 31st.
I'm pretty sure your GPS is already up to date.

I can confirm that I successfully updated yesterday, 24 Aug 2025, well past the 31 Jul threshold.
