added Oz maps now cant get UK maps back

I have an original TomTom one that i purchased in the UK many years ago. I moved to Australia about 3 years ago and purchased the Australian maps for it and i seem to remember my PC saying it had stored the old maps somewhere when i downloaded the Oaz stuff. I'm going back to he UK for a visit and when i try to find the UK maps to switch it back they arn't there. I plug the Tom Tom into my pc and do a restore and back up and during the loading process i see references to the UK while it process but i've got no idea what to do. Can anybody help please?

I've tried to search my laptop for the maps and although the TomTom software is on here, again there's no reference to UK maps.

In Home, Manage my Unit, Items on Computer, what is listed?

Also, in Home's Tools menu, Home Preferences, Folders tab, it shows a location for backups from the unit. Try there.

In HOME it lists Voices, Safety Camera's, zip codes, quickgpsfix. I tried in the Tools menu and can find the Australian maps but no UK.

When i go into TomTom from device it lists some .zip & .toc files but im not sure what they are,

Use Explorer to go to this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\FromDevice

and let me know if there is anything there OTHER THAN data.zip and data.toc files

Also, go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Backup\GO\

and tell me what's there.

Well, it looks as if you once had a Western_Europe map on the device. Where it is now, I don't know.

is there any kind of shop that i can take it to where they would have a look for me or am i best just buying a new unit?

If the map isn't on the unit, there's nothing a repair shop can do.
