920 will not charge, even with new battery

I have had my 920 since 2008 and really love it. I updated my maps in April. In May it would not charge. I installed a new battery, and it worked for one month. I then installed another new battery, and it worked until that battery was discharged, but would not recharge. The green light indicator shows power is getting to the unit, but it is not getting to the battery.
What now?? Please help.
 
If you leave the unit connected to the computer for a couple of hours to charge and then remove it, are you saying the battery is flat? How about if it's connected to the car charger. Does the battery retain a charge after disconnecting there?
 
Agree with a new battery, sometimes only the car charger has a high enough amperage to kick start charging.
