730 via usb to laptop via evdo out to the web?

I am about to get a GO 730 and was curious to ask if it is possible to do the following:
Connect the gps to my laptop via usb which in turn has a Verizon Wireless EVDO card
(Sierra Wireless 580).

Would this work to get weather, traffic, etc?

Unfortunately, no. The TT doesn't look to the USB cable to obtain data services. It would certainly be a nice option vs. using the Bluetooth method via cell phone.

About all you could do with that lash-up would be to run TomTom Home on your PC and use it for file updates, etc.
