720 Showing wrong drive size info

I have a Go 720 that I just purchased last week and still learning.

When I display firmware version, map version etc., I noticed that it says I have 64mb drive. If I look at it using Windows Explorer, it shows a 2gb drive. Why is it showing the wrong info in the TomTom display?

Here's what it shows:

Device (serial #info)
App 8.300
64mb RAM (Free 14.7 MB)
GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5015
Map: 'North America_2gb' v710.1584
Language: English US

That's what the internal is.....it is NOT a mechanical hard drive.

Trust me, nothing is wrong.

Tomtom has dram (the kind that erases itself upon poweroff, but is much faster than flash ram) to run applications. The dram is hardwired into the tomtom and is 32mb or 64mb (maybe higher on some new models??).

The tomtom has separate flash ram (doesn't get erased upon poweroff), which acts like a hard drive and stores the program software and the maps. Depending on model, it has 0-4 gigs internally. Some models have no internal flash ram and a slot for an SD card instead. Some models have both.

The status screen on the tomtom reports available dram.

The home application will report available flash ram.
