5200 screen ...blank

I was driving along , using the satnav, after about an hour...all of a sudden it went black, nothing at all., It turned itself off..I think
I pulled over , eventually got it turned on again.
Anyone have an idea why?

Was the device connected to the cig lighter outlet -- NOT a usb cable connection -- in the automobile? Battery fully charged?
