3rd Edition Problem, Sat-Lock . . .

Hi all, I haven't posted since Christmas 2007 when many of us were having the White Screen of Death problems. Since that time my 3rd Edition has worked flawlessly.

Now, however, on start-up it's taking the unit an unusually long time to acquire satellites. If I turn it off and on again it locks on right away. Otherwise it may take many minutes or not acquire at all.

I know there is a file update to let the unit know where the satellites should be, if you don't use the unit everyday, but I've never used it every day and it always locked onto the satellites right away, so something else is going on.

Any ideas . . . ?

Well, try dl the file now via Home's update and see if it helps.

Check your ephem file. there should be 3 files in there. If any are missing

ee_meta.tlv
ee_meta.txt
lto.dat

It wont connect. you should grab the files from your back up!

I had this problem before that was the fix! Sometimes they accidently get
deleted!

I had a similar issue for a couple of days. It was fixed by a pin reset. Go figure...
