Hi,

TomTom advertisements for the Camper Max state that it displays buildings in 3D where possible. But since I got mine, the map displayed has been hopelessly flat: like the Go Expert map on my iPhone (even though the TomTom free app map shows at least a few cubes...).

The 3D display is of course checked on my Camper and I have already driven through some fairly large cities... Nothing. Should I conclude that this so-called 3D display of buildings only applies to capital cities (Paris, London, etc.)?

Edit: Even when simulating a route in Paris, everything remains flat...

Did I missed something?

Good point... If I zoom in all the way on the map, I can see 3D shapes... But it's completely useless because then I can only see 10 meters of the route... and from above.
It's nothing like what you get with Apple Maps or Sygic, for example...

3D buildings are basically a gimmick. It doesn't really add anything to the feature set of a satnav.
