330XL Hardwiring - Automatic on?

One feature I loved in my Garmin was that it would come on and go off with accessory power/key on. I now have a 330 XL and have it set to turn off when it loses power, but I don't see any way to have it automatically turn on when it sees power.

I've found some posts about the One and these problems, but I was hoping maybe there was a solution for the 330. It's annoying to have to manually power up a device every time I want to use it.

Older firmware allowed for 'power on' but that capability was removed from TomToms over a year ago. Who knows why?
