TomTom voices listed by number/name?

I have a lot of voices on my TT.

Is there a listing posted somewhere that will let me know what voice for example..."data04.chk" , or "data78.chk" is? It would help with house-keeping the voices folders. Right now I have 2 'Mandy English" Voices that show up on my device. I'd like to delete one of them, but when in TTH, only one of them shows up for me to remove. I'd like to remove the additional one I added, and not the one that came on the TT.

Also, I have some downloaded voices, that come up as Svennis and Sebastian (on TTH), yet I do not have the actual Svennis or Sebastian voices themselves loaded. I'm guessing that TT sees a certain data??.chk number as belonging to those 2 guys, but I don't know which 2 data??.chk numbers to change.

Is there an applet that I can install on my PC that will quickly play TT voice files. So, if i am looking at a folder full of voices, I could quickly play a snipet of each?

i'm not sure if this answers your query, but you can play the files on programmes such as audactiy. i epxect you could find it in a search. i expect you can find other things too if you search for what plays ogg files(?)

Can I assume that the computer generated voices don't show on the above list?

I Don't have my TT in front of me right now, but I don't remember Mandy being a computer voice, ( I could be wrong ) and I don't see her on the list....

Also, from having sampled some of the celebrity voices...to my ears they sounded absolutely nothing like the actual celebrity...Are any of the celebrity voices actually made by the celebs? In my opinion, the Mr. T, and Arnold Swarzenegger are really poor. The Ozzy (Uncensored) and the John Cleese sound to be real. Does anyone know if any of the other voices on the list are real?

Use TomTom Home. Go to Add Maps/Voices icon. Your choices should appear. However, if you're looking for computer voices, you need to move to the next page and you'll see the icon for computer voices.

I have a TomTom One 125 and the Mandy voice is data16.chk

Maybe for the US market they got rid of Nora from The Netherlands. Mandy is the only voice I can find that speaks in feet and miles (instead of yards).

All the celebrity voices from Navtones are real, that's Mr. T, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, Gary Busey... The John Cleese from TomTom is real too.

There are a lot of bad, fake voices out there which is why I generally use Navtones. They are partners with TomTom and get the real celebrity into the studio to record the navigation. There's some funny youtube videos out there that has some outtakes of Mr. T and Gary Busey. The one that springs to mind is "The Presidential Election Debate, Mr. T vs Gary Busey"

I think Ozzy is fake, almost sure of it but could be wrong. Like I say, your best bet is to get your voices from TomTom themselves or Navtones, if you want real celebs.
