Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone can help me...
My TomTom One 3rd Edition is stuck on the bootup screen (this screen is a black screen with white writing, which giives information about the Hardware type, Bootloader version, Checksum, etc.).
I have tried pressing the Reset button, but the same page loads up again on restart.
The unit wont switch off and is not recognised when I plug it into my computer.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Spencer

That sounds like the main on/ off switch is stuck in the on position, does this button feel to work correctly or not? - I doub't this will be a DIY fix though, is the device still under warranty - Mike

The on/off switch feels correct, but it obviously doesn't do anything when I press it. Do you think opening it up would do any good?
I've just had a look and I can't find any warranty. It's a refurbished unit which I only bought a couple of months ago.

Thanks Mike. I've got it working now... Thanks to your post, I sprayed some WD-40 on the on/off switch area - and the TomTom suddenly sprung to life!
You really don't know how much a relief this is for me! Thanks again.

The "WD-40 trick" might only be a temporary fix... Does anyone know of a more permanent solution to the "sticky on/off switch" problem?!

As predicted, the WD-40 trick was only a temporary fix. I called TomTom support up today and they're sending me some packaging so that I can return the unit back to them for exchange/repair.
Hopefully the new one will be alright.
