QuickGPS Fix Not Updating on My 720

Hi Gang:

Would someone please help me troubleshoot WHY my 720 no longer updates for that 7 day satellite location file? Per my post a few days ago, I recently "recovered" my device back to operating condition... but something ain't right with this one update.

I'm guessing this problem has a "fix" somewhat related to the process for manually installing the current map, ie, creating a folder on the device, unzipping a file on my computer, then moving that file over to the device. I'm hoping one of the experts or moderators can help me out. Thanks, in advance! >;-)

Try this. Use Explorer to look at the contents of the unit. Delete everything you find in the ephem folder.

Next, again using Explorer go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\ephemeris

and delete any sub folders you see in there.

Then, connect to Home and see if a new quickfix file gets downloaded.

Thanks so much... that did the trick!

Just FYI... after your instructions, the "Home" software indicated that the file was downloaded and installed. However, the device needed to be restarted before it actually started "using" the data.
