TomTom Model(s)
Via 1505
The computer I'm using is running Win 7 and my 1505 is not recognized by it. When I needed to rebuild it ti was recognized from the Windows XP that was first installed. Win 8.1 didn't work either but right now I'm running it under 7. No matter how many times I re-installed the driver(s)/software it wouldn't recognize it. Checking/editing all the settings (firewall/ports etc.) hasn't worked either. The error in the device driver is Code 31 with no other hint......

Anyone have an Idea? I got it to run on an old laptop with Windows XP without a problem but that one is not always available. Would really like to solve this cause it would need to work under Win 8.x and 10.

Thanks
Alex

Is this your first TomTom unit? There were no other TomTom units connected previously?
As for determining whether the device is recognized, be aware that to your PC, if the software is working as it should, the 1505 appears as a network interface card within Windows (I know, sounds weird). When connected, you'll want to see if it is recognized as that kind of device. Please check that much so we can move ahead.

Also, just to be certain .. did the installation of MyDrive seem to go correctly when you "re-installed the driver(s)/software"? I assume you are getting the application from TomTom here? >>> https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/mytomtom/getstarted/download.jsp#dl-windows
