update tomtom maps or buy a new tomtom

I have a tomtom 910 with real old maps and was going to update the maps but saw them to be 99.00 For not much more I can get a tomtom one, what is better to do update maps or new tomtom one, I really don't need all the bells and whistles the text to speech is no big deal I don't care about mp3 just a good accurate gps
