My TT 825 gives time to destination.
Is there a way to make it give distance (miles) to destination instead?

There's only so much you can pack into the status bar, but it is possible to include both ETA and distance at the same time. It depends upon what else you have displayed there. Have a look at all of the options available and weed out any you are not using.
