Tomtom 50 update USA

Hi I'm new in this forum so exuse me if I make a mistake.

But I need help.
I made an update yesterday for my USA maps.
First I was very disappointed that the USA has now 5 or 6 different maps.
But after I updated my To tom will not work properly anymore.
I can go to my favorites but I can't put in an address anymore.
I tried again an update but stil the same problem.

Welcome to the list, Frans.

TomToms' maps have become too big for the older devices and that is the same for Europe as for the USA.
Older devices have to download zoned maps but they can be changed.
What exactly are you doing and what are you expecting.
Can you explain a little more detailed.

Excuse, but since TomTom (boneheads that they can be) re-used the Start 50 name, it would help to know WHICH Start 50 you own.
If it's one of the really new ones (serial number starting with VG or VJ), I don't know if those have a uSD slot. If you can find one, at least you'll be able to load the full map once we get the other problem sorted.
