New TomToms: AutoDim too sensitive

I have noticed that the TomTom (920) dims now far more quickly in light conditions---ie. it will go to the nighttime screen on cloudy days!

The reason? TomTom has put the sensor on the front now instead of the top (which faces the interior of the vehicle instead of the sky). Even in vehicles without tinted windows, it still wants to flip to the night screen in dim daytime conditions.

My 720 is way too sensitive to low light conditions and also turns down the brightness either too early in the afternoon or when it's cloudy but still fairly bright outside. I don't even use the auto dimming feature anymore. I would say to use the feedback link on their site but it looks like it's been removed. If you have the chance, call tech support and leave feedback about this. 1-866 486-6866

This may also be worth checking out but I haven't tried it myself yet. http://www.webazar.org/tomtom/suntime.php?lang=uk

Wow... this last round of TomTom's (720, 920 etc.) are turning out to be real lemons. My 920 will not go to the day screen in our van because it has tinted windows. But it's not that dark!!

That, and the shutting down issue, and there's some real problems here: https://www.tomtomforums.com/showthread.php?t=5251&goto=newpost
