- here are picture[strike]s of power-up screeen and[/strike] the main menu
Good, that's what I wanted to see.
Click on Settings and you should see left/right arrows in the margin.
Press one of them until you see an icon like a blue dot with a white "
i" inside and the text "Me and my device".
Tap it and you should see an icon like a globe but with two hands instead of continents.
Tap it and make a picture of it or type what you see on lines 1, 2 and 3.

Having established that your device is a NAV3 type please be aware that it is not shown in Windows Explorer. The question was asked so we could identify the model if it was an older version.
Back to your thread starter question.
First off, the GPS will always know the polar coordinates of its current position if it is in an unobstructed area.
To select a destination by coordinates, on the Main screen tap "Drive to..."
You may have to tap the right margin arrow to get to the next screen where you should see a blue globe with the words Latitude Longitude underneath.
Once tapping that it should display the latitude of your current position.
Enter the one of your intended destination, then tap OK.
The Longitude screen wil come up, enter your data the same way.
Tap OK and a map with the pointer will show the location and the address will be displayed on the right. If that is correct, tap Select and it will ask you what type of route you want and it will plot it.
Your device may not have all the options of mine so some of the "next steps" may not be identical.
Try to plot a route and if not successful, let me know step by step what you were doing.
