Help with symbol!

Hi! I'm new to this forum and hope someone can help me. I live in the UK and hav aTomtomOne V3. In the last 2 weeks, I've been getting a flashing black car symbol in the top left corner along with a bugle call!! Have never had this at all in the year of owning it. There is a countdown (iassume it's distance?) but it never reaches zero. I can't find any info on it at all. I'd be grateful for any answers. Thanks.

It sounds like it is a POI alert.
To change/disable it

Main Menu, Preferences
Warn when near POI

You will see a list of POI categories
The ones with an Alert assigned will have a speaker icon next to them or something similar to distinguish it from the others.
Select it and the TomTom will ask "Remove warning?"

Also I don't think posting this question to the TomTom News section was the best place for this.
Perhaps one of the moderators can move it for you.
