GO 520
Hi, I have just received a GO 510 to replace my GO 2050 {aka 1050} (as it no longer can be connected to my computer due to USB connection failure.) From visual inspection it appears that the connector socket on the bottom of the 510 is identical with that on the 2050. I have a spare GO 2050/1050 mount and cable, which I have been using to connect to my computer . Does anyone know if the pin outs are the same? Or to put it another way, has anyone satisfactorily connected a GO 510 using the cable issued with the Go 2050/1050? If the connectors/connections are the same I would use the 2050 mount by my desk to hold the 510 device while it is not in the car, and the cable to connect to the computer. The 2050 mount holds the 510 OK, but covers the mini USB socket on the base of the GPS preventing use of a cable in that socket to connect to the computer. Minor point, I can take the GPS off the mount while updating/charging, but if the old cable will work, so much the better. Obviously I do not want to wreck the new GPS by attempting to connect with the 2050 cable. I have checked that 2050 cable does fit the 510, with the device turned off, so there is no mechanical issue.

In order to connect the device to MyDriveConnect , it must be WITHOUT the mount. So, try the cable.

Thank you for your response.
To clarify, I have updated my new GO 510 using a generic USB A to USB micro cable connected to my computer, and charged it using the same cable connected to a TomTom wall adapter. And yes, to access the micro USB socket on the device it must be out of the mount.
But my main question was whether I could safely use the cable supplied by TomTom with the GO 2050/1050 unit, which has a 20 contact plug which appears identical with the connector which forms part of the mount for the GO 510.
Thanks.
