945 maps out on the 9th ?

Just installed 945 on my XXL and went ok...I installed the US version only, had several choices.....
I have 639MB free now

Having successfully loaded ver.945 USA only zone, I next looked for information as to how to change my zone map, and unless I missed the instructions, here is what looks like needs to be done --

In TomTom Home, choose "Purchase Maps" then in the zoned map indicated as already installed, choose "change map zone." No purchase necessary if you carefully choose the correct map (smile).

I have about 3 hrs invested into an 8 hour update. The download process takes up about 98% of the update time. Has anyone come up with a solution to this issue? I like to keep my VIA 1650 up to date but this process is so painfull.

Avoid downloading the first couple of days after release. There's a lot of M and TM units out there.
