New GPS method

Hey guys, i read about this new system where the gps will be project on the windscreen. You need to follow a red line to get where ever you want to go. It looks like a cool gadget, now im wondering:Can i buy is already? and what should it cost?

That's just one of a half-dozen similar ideas being floated around, and in various stages of development. There's one I recently saw that does the same for pedestrians. It didn't look terrible effective. None of these are ready for primetime or for sale AFAIK.

Good timing on the question.

Pioneer is working on one of the better ideas I've seen for a HUD. Using laser tech, they're "floating" the image betwwen the driver and windshield. Running under the Android OS, they say they'll be ready to roll with a consumer version by 2012. More details here:
