Is there a way to set up some sort of touch screen lock. So that if the TT is left on and put in a back pack or pouch the touch screen buttons will not activate? I'm using the event logger and a GO 920. Does the event logger still operate if the touch screen is accidently touched while in a bag?

the plastic container that comes in the box is perfect storage for the 930 inside the knapsack. May need to trim i to reduce size.

All depends on what you're after I guess.

On my unit (920), once it has been turned off, everything suspends. TripMaster, Event Logger, and even the internal time counters for the device.

To preserve battery, I usually hit the Reset switch on the unit. That essentially powers it off completely, and the power button has to be held down to turn it on again. Then if I'm traveling, I place it in my TomTom carrying case. Haven't had a problem with that so far on my 920. It's conceivable though (and this actually happened to me with my Magellan) that if you pack it in your luggage, you might get enough pressure from luggage on top or around your GPS to push down on that button continuously. Not much you can do about that except pack a charger. :)

If you just want to prevent accidental button presses lock down the unit using TT Home's owner access code feature. TripMaster or Event Logger may record your route with the access code prompt displayed, I'm not sure, but you can be certain none of the controls will be messed with.

I know what you mean!

I think what they (and I !) want is to have the Tomtom record our trips around town or wherever...

Of course a hard case is nice, but let's find some soft-ware this time!

I thought I saw something somewhere but can't remember now, if I find I'll post a link here...

that's a great idea for those of us not wanting to buy a case right away.
Ya.. I was doing that for a while.. Another thing I do is get one of those fake leather "shaver kit" carriers for travellers.. They fit my 720 perfectly, it has a LOT of padding in it (inner pouch fits in outter pouch), and I save a lot of money. Retail TT Cases are WAYYYY overpriced. Some electric shavers come with their own storage pouch that is great for TomToms.
